Who we are
While one day we hope to exclusively source yarn from alpacas we own and love, we currently source our alpaca fiber from two sources, which allows us to offer two price points for our yarn.
1) Independently owned and operated United States Alpaca Farms, where the fiber is processed at small family owned mills
and
2) Ethically sourced and processed alpaca fiber from wholesale sources.
While we primarily focus on hand-dyed 100% alpaca yarn, we do offer blends of alpaca fiber and other fiber(s). If you are looking for something specific please contact us and we will see if we can create something beautiful together!
All of our yarn is hand dyed using acid dyes. While we use various methods for dying we are committed to creating small batch unique colorways that are one of a kind.
Our finished products are primarily sourced from Peru. We work with companies who own manufacturing facilities in Peru with distribution centers in the United States. Our products are fair-trade and ethically sourced. These companies work exclusively with alpaca farms - none of our products can be found in big box stores.
While we soon hope to have products that are made with our alpacas’ fiber and made my artisans in Michigan, we are not yet at that point. If you come visit at us at one of our events, we will likely give you far more information than you ever wanted to know about the processing time and capabilities for alpaca fiber and goods in the United States.
